28 February 2014 Military Pay

The month has flown by; I can hardly believe that I am writing about the end-of-month payday already.  But I am, as the next regular, active duty military payday is Friday, 28 February 2014.  Most servicemembers will have their pay directed deposited some time on Friday, but others will have their pay deposited earlier due to the policies and practices of their bank or credit union.

One Business Day Early

I think that "one business day early" tops the market in terms of most frequent early pay schemes.  Both USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union offer early direct deposit one business day before the actual payday.  For this pay period, one business day early equals Thursday, 27 February 2014.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union posts active duty military pay “up to two business days” prior to the actual payday. This is not guaranteed and is reliant upon the receipt by Service Credit Union of the correct deposit information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

Service Credit Union members with active duty military pay could see their mid-month pay as early as Wednesday, 26 February 2014.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) has two different paydays depending on which type of account you use.  NFCU members who use Active Duty checking accounts will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 26 February 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 27 February 2014.  NFCU members who use any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 27 February 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 28 February 2014.

Pay can come at any time of the day, and it can vary from payday to payday.  See When Will I Get Paid? for more information.
