Free Performances Through Blue Star Theatres

I love to attend live performances of theatre and music, but the prices are often outside our family's budget.  If you are in a similar situation, you may find some help through Blue Star Family program Blue Star Theatres.  Nearly 100 theatres across the United States are offering discounted or free admission to shows.  While you may find some variation at an individual theatre, the discount is supposed to be available to military personnel, their families, and veterans.

Discounts vary widely, so be sure to investigate all your options.  I checked on the four theatres that would might use during our travels this summer, and I found one that offered a 15% discount, one that required you to call and check for your specific show, one that offered $10 off your ticket, and in one case I couldn't work out the situation.  You may find better deals by using a different sort of discount, such as matinée pricing, same-day half-price tickets, or coupons from sources such as the Entertainment book.

This program is part of a collaboration between Blue Star Families and Theatre Communications Group with support from the MetLife Foundation.
