14 June 2013 Military Pay

Wow - where has June gone?  It is already time for my post about the June mid-month pay.  The next regular, active duty military pay day is Friday, 14 June 2013, because 15 June is on a weekend.  The time and day of your pay deposit will depend on your bank or credit union.  It will definitely be no later than Friday, 14 June 2013.

While most financial institutions pay on the designated payday, some banks and credit unions offer early deposit as a benefit to their customers.  The most common offer is "one business day early."  This would include USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU), plus some others.  For this payday, one business day early will be Thursday, 13 June 2013.

Service Credit Union will deposit funds "up to two business days early," pending the receipt of information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS.)  With a Friday payday, it is likely that they will receive the data in time to post deposits on Wednesday, 12 June 2013.  However, Service Credit Union does not guarantee that deposits will be made early.  Never write a check, make a transfer, or make a purchase with the idea that your pay will definitely be available early.  You'll find yourself in a world of trouble if that deposit isn't posted early.

Navy Federal Credit Union has two different posting days.  Which day your pay will be deposited is based upon the type of checking account you use for your deposits.  Members who have their pay deposited into their Active Duty checking account will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 12 June 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 13 June 2013.  Members with any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 13 June 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 14 June 2013.

Wondering about when you'll be paid, or concerned that your pay is late?  Check out What Time Will I Get Paid? for answers to those questions.

While most "late" deposits are resolved with a few hours of patience, actual mistakes do occur.  If payday has passed, and you haven't been paid, read  Why Hasn’t My Pay Been Deposited? to track down the error.
