Military Spouse Scholarship for Medical Fields

I’ve just heard about an exciting and generous new scholarship being offered by Operation Homefront and the Women’s Self Worth Foundation.  It is called the Saban Military Wife Educational Scholarship.

This scholarship will help pay for vocational training for these fields:  dental assistant, medical assistant, medical billing and coding specialist, medical insurance technician, patient care assistant/ technician, nurse assistant training program, medical transcription, or nursing.  There are three scholarship amounts:  $8,500, $10,000, and $30,000.

The application period runs from March 1, 2011 to May 1, 2011.  The application can be found at the scholarship website.  I hope to hear that one of my readers applies and is awarded one of these scholarships!

I am SO bummed I just came across this today and missed the deadline:(

This is a perfect chance at a scholarship for my wife and I couldn’t be more upset at the fact that today is May 31st…

Was actually able to apply for this one, right before the deadline! I know it’s a long shot, but what a blessing it would be! I have spent a lot of money for nursing, and unfortunately due to PCSing, it was money wasted. This would be perfect timing as we just got to our new duty station and there are 3 local vocational schools…Praying for this one!

I am studying Nursing and I’m almost 3 months late. =( Wish I would have been told about this sooner.
