This longer pay period has folks wondering just when they're going to get paid again.  The next regular, active duty military payday is Wednesday, 1 February 2017.  As always, the exact day you'll see your 1 February 2017 military pay in your account may vary depending on what bank or credit union you use for your pay deposits.  Many financial institutions that market to military members offer to credit pay deposits prior to the actual payday.  Others have deposit posting practices that mean that your pay typically shows up early.  Either way, it is always safest to plan that your pay will come on the actual payday and be pleasantly surprised when it arrives earlier.

Here are some of the banks and credit unions that have policies stating that they will credit military pay early:

USAA

USAA guarantees that pay deposits will be posted one business day prior to the actual payday, pending receive of the pay information from the employer.  I've recently learned that this is true for all members, not just those employed by the Department of Defense.  Cool, huh?

For this pay period, military pay should be deposited into USAA accounts on Tuesday, 31 January 2017.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) has two different posting dates for military pay.  Which day your pay will be posted depends on which type of checking account you use.  Members who use an Active Duty checking account have their military pay credited one business day prior to the actual payday.  Members who use any other type of checking account have their military pay credited on the actual payday. Not sure which type of checking account you use? You can check online, call, or stop by a branch to find out. If you're not using Active Duty checking, and you'd like to switch, you can also do that online, over the phone, or in person. It's pretty simple and Active Duty checking comes with some great benefits.

Members who use Active Duty checking will have their pay available for use on Tuesday, 31 January 2017.

Members who use any other type of checking will have their pay available for use on Wednesday, 1 February 2017.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) credits active duty military pay two business day prior to the actual payday.  For this pay period, that will be Monday, 30 January 2017.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union credits active duty military pay two business day prior to the actual payday, pending the receipt of information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).  For this pay period, that will be Monday, 30 January 2017.

The next few paydays are coming consistently every two weeks.  If this last long pay period was hard for you, the upcoming shorter ones would be a great time to build up a little fund to help you during the longer lengths.
