15 November 2016 Military Pay

The next regular, active duty military payday is coming next Tuesday, 15 November 2016.  Tuesday paydays are particularly confusing because of the many different early direct deposit offers and the way that the different banks and credit unions handle processing over the weekends.  This payday is even a little more complicated because of the federal holiday on Friday, 11 November 2016.  It can make it hard to know when you'll actually receive your 15 November 2016 military pay, so I've decoded it for you:

USAA

USAA guarantees its members that it will deposit active duty military pay one business day early.  For this payday, one business day early is Monday, 14 November 2016.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is particularly tricky on Tuesday paydays because of how their various policies and practices come together.  Throw in a Friday holiday and it is quite unusual.  As always, with NFCU, what day you will receive your pay depends on what type of checking account you use.

NFCU members who use an Active Duty Checking account for their pay deposit will see their pay pending on Thursday, 10 November 2016, to be deposited overnight and available for use on Friday, 11 November 2016.  If you fall into this category, remember that it will be nearly three weeks until your next pay deposit.  These three weeks include Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  Plan accordingly.

NFCU members who use any other type of checking account for their pay deposit will see their pay pending on Monday, 14 November 2016, to be deposited overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 15 November 2016.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) deposits active duty military pay two business days prior to the actual military payday.  Due to the holiday, that will be Thursday, 10 November 2016.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union deposits active duty military pay "up to two business days early."  This is not guaranteed.  If Service Credit Union receives the necessary information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) in a timely fashion, deposits will be available on 10 November 2016.

These super-early deposits are going to make for some longish pay periods for some members.  Look ahead and make sure you can make your money stretch.  The holidays are a particularly hard time to have lengthy pay periods, and no one needs any extra stress during this already crazy time of year.
