15 July 2016 Military Pay

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

Keeping it simple, the next regular active duty military payday is Friday, 15 July 2016.  There won't be a lot of drama and confusion about this one, with it being a Friday and not anywhere near a holiday.  So, when will your 15 July 2016 military pay turn up in your bank account?  Depends on your bank or credit union, and sometimes even depends on the bank account you use.  That is because several financial institutions, particularly ones that market to military members, offer early direct deposit as a benefit to their military customers.

If you don't use a bank or credit union that offers early direct deposit, or if your bank or credit union's early direct deposit isn't guaranteed, you should always assume that your pay will be deposited on the actual payday.  Sometimes those deposits will show up a day or two early, but please don't make plans based on the idea that could happen.  It would be no fun to have your finances messed up because money didn't come early like you expected.

USAA

USAA guarantees that it will credit active duty military pay one business day prior to the actual payday.  For this pay period, that will be Thursday, 14 July 2016.

While USAA typically credits deposits fairly early in the morning, there is no pattern or guarantee to that.  It can be anytime during the day.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is a little more complicated than other financial institutions because they only offer early direct deposit for one of the checking account types.  NFCU members who have their military pay deposited into an Active Duty checking account get early direct deposit as a benefit with that type of checking account.  Customers who use an Active Duty checking account will see their pay "pending" on Wednesday, 13 July 2016, to be posted overnight and available for use on the morning of Thursday, 14 July 2016.

NFCU customers who use any other type of checking account will see their pay "pending" on Thursday, 14 July 2016, to be posted overnight and available for use on the morning of Friday, 15 July 2016.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union also credits military pay deposits one business day early...so, for this payday, Pacific Marine Credit Union members will see their pay deposited on Thursday, 14 July 2016.

This pay period is a little long, depending on the bank you use, because the next regular, active duty military payday isn't until Monday, 1 July 2016.
