1 April 2015 Military Pay

I am doing this post a little early because the topic is being so heavily searched and because the long pay period after many shorter ones can be surprising.  The next regular, active duty military  pay day is Wednesday, 1 April 2015.  The exact date and time of your deposit will depend on your bank and sometimes even your account type.  Most financial institutions deposit active duty military pay on the actual payday.  However, some offer early direct deposit as a benefit to their customers.  It is a nice benefit, but sometimes it makes things more confusing along the way.  If you aren’t aware that your bank or credit union offers early direct deposit, you should expect to be paid on Wednesday, 1 April 2015.

One Business Day Early

The most common early deposit schedule is to credit active duty military pay deposits one business day early.  Two big military-oriented companies that pay one business day early are USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union.  For this pay period, one business day early will be Tuesday, 31 March 2015.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union’s policy is to deposit active duty military pay two business days early, pending the receipt of information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).  For this payday, two business days early will be Monday, 30 March 2015.  Service Credit Union does not guarantee that the pay will be deposited early.

Navy Federal Credit Union

There are two key things to know about the way that Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU)  credits military pay deposits.  First, they have two different paydays depending on which type of account you use.  Second, they show pay as “pending” on the day before it will actually be available, then it is posted overnight and available for use on the next business day.  While they do post deposits (credits) prior to charges and withdrawals (debits), you still don’t want to be confused about pending vs. posted.

NFCU members who use Active Duty checking accounts will see their pay pending on Monday, 30 March 2015, to be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 31 March 2015.  NFCU members who use any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Tuesday, 31 March 2015, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 1 April 2015.

Wondering what time you’ll be paid?  There is no set time.  It depends on the bank and the particular deposit.  While your bank or credit union may have a pattern that seems consistent, it is dependent on a hundred small factors and can change from payday to payday.

I am a veteran who gets compensation for service connected disabilities. And I was wondering if it is possible that could get paid a couple of days earlier if I had an account wirh one of the credit unions that was mentioned in this article.

I am also a disabled veteran and I bank at one of the listed establishments. No, I always receive my benefit on the first of every month unless the 1st falls on a Sat or Sun.

We are waiting too!!!! I am actually freaking out because we almost always see funds in USAA by now. It is currently 2:23 MST, 31 Mar 2015. Both my husband and I are full-time students and we count on his retirement benefits! Some months we get money posted REALLY early. I believe that we were paid on Feb 26.

I am concerned as well. Last month I got mine deposited on Feb 26th. At 1:45 CST, i woke to use the bathroom and checked my phone for any new alerts from USAA. Still nothing at my online account either. Seems odd. Suffice to say, I never went back to sleep.

I am also a disabled vet and am getting concerned as my money has not yet posted to my account? I have always recieved mine the day before the first. Anyone else having the same problem?

      • Kate

Relax, folks! It’s barely mid-day. In my experience, 99% of pay “problems” are resolved by waiting a couple of hours.

If tomorrow comes and goes, and you still aren’t paid, then let me know and we’ll see how to proceed from there.

I am separated and currently utilizing 9/11 benefits while I go to school. I bank with USAA and get my BAH one day prior just as listed above.

Hi guys, I am a service connected veteran who banks with USAA FS. In general, I am able to withdrawal funds in a situation like this sister two days early. I’m expecting funds available mist likely Monday Eve usually after 8.

This is the first time that the money has not been in the account and available by 12:01 a.m. on the date of pay,in this case April 1. Should I be concerned? Literally the first deviation from that instant -availability. Also wondering, can my VA comp benefits be garnished?

I am also worried it was the one thing I could count on getting like clock work when I got out the military and now I cant sleep thinking it wont come

It’s 7:00 am here and no pay. My husband is army reserve and currently at annual training since March 15th. Do they get paid differently because he got told he gets paid the first.
