Trees For Troops

The fabulous folks at the Christmas Spirit Foundation have begun their annual Trees for Troops program, helping to provide free Christmas Trees for military servicemembers and families worldwide.  In addition to the approximately 300 trees that have already been sent to military bases overseas, trees will be available to families at selected stateside locations.

The Christmas Spirit Foundation put together the Trees for Troops program in 2005, and has now provided over 120,000 trees to military families all over the country.  It has been supported generously by FedEx, individual tree growers, and members of the public.

Here is a comprehensive list of tree delivery locations and dates.  Please be sure to check with the appropriate group at your base, as distribution times and locations are organized at the local level.  I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that information can be found through your Airman and Family Readiness Center, Army Community Service Center, Fleet and Family Service Center, Coast Guard Community Services, or Marine Corps Community Services Center.

Programs such as this exist because of the generosity of many people.  You can help support the Trees for Troops program by donating to their operating expenses, purchasing their products, or purchasing trees through participating growers.

Thank you, Christmas Spirit Foundation.
