15 November 2013 Military Pay

It's that time of month again; people are asking, "When is payday?"  The next regular, active duty military payday is Friday, 15 November 2013.  The exact day and time of your deposit will depend on your bank or credit union.  Most people will have their pay deposited sometime on Friday, 15 November 2013.  Certain military members who use specific banks and credit unions may have their pay deposited earlier.  How much earlier?  That depends.

The most common early deposit offer is “one business day early.”  One business day early deposits are offered by  USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU), plus some others.  For this payday, one business day early will be Thursday, 14 November 2013.

Service Credit Union will deposit funds “up to two business days early,” pending the receipt of information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS.)  With a Friday payday, it is likely that they will receive the data in time to post deposits on Wednesday, 13 November 2013.  No guarantees, though.

If you bank with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU), you need to know that they have two different posting days.  Which day your pay will be deposited is based upon the type of checking account you use for your deposits.  Members who have their pay deposited into their Active Duty checking account will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 13 November 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 14 November 2013.  Members with any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 14 November 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 15 November 2013.
Each payday, I get comments and emails about pay being late.  Before you panic, check out What Time Will I Get Paid? for answers to those questions.  You'll probably find that you just need to be patient.  However, if payday has gone and there is still no deposit, read Why Hasn’t My Pay Been Deposited? to figure out how to proceed.
