Coming soon to a bank account near you…the next active duty military payday is Tuesday, 1 October 2013. The actual day and time that your pay will be deposited depends on your financial institution, and sometimes even the type of account that you use. It’s been a long time since a Tuesday payday, and Tuesday paydays always seem to cause a lot of confusion.
Most early deposit offers will deposit money one business day early. With a Tuesday payday, the way that works depends on your bank or credit union’s policies and practices. Pacific Marine Credit Union has posted their 2013 pay calendar, and it shows that they will be depositing pay on Monday, 30 September 2013. USAA ’s calendar also says that they will be depositing pay Monday, 30 September 2013.
If you bank with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU), your payday depends on the type of account into which you have your pay deposited. They also do things a little different from most other banking institution. NFCU members who use Active Duty checking for their pay will see their pay pending on Friday, 27 September 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Saturday, 28 September 2013. NFCU members who use any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Monday, 30 September 2013, to be deposited overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 1 September 2013. Please don’t forget that pending does not mean posted.
Service Credit Union offers early deposit “up to two days early,” and it is not guaranteed. If you are with Service Credit Union, I can’t guess when you will be paid. What I can tell you is that it will be no later than Tuesday, 1 October 2013. Last time there was a Tuesday payday, Service Credit Union deposited pay on the previous Friday. This does not guarantee that your pay will be posted on the previous Friday this time.
What time will you get paid? It can be any time, so don’t worry. See What Time Will I Get Paid? for more information.
