No More Commissary Remote Location Sales

It’s internet official:  the special remote location sales offered by the Defense Commissary Agency have been suspended until further notice.  These sales, which brought commissary products and pricing to locations away from regular commissary stores, were officially called “Guard and Reserve sales.”  I called them remote location sales because they were open to all eligible commissary patrons, including retirees and people working in odd billets that put them away from a military base.

No one knows if these sales will be reinstated in the future.  I’ll keep you updated as I learn more.

AJS, it sounds like you’ll be getting into the sale and coupon game if you are not near a commissary. There are still lots of ways to save money on groceries, it will just take a different strategy. I hope your move goes well.

We were posted with a MILGRP in South American and were totally dependent on the commissary at Howard AFB. I would hate to see such remote assignments without support from a DOD commissary.

Once again the Guard and Reserve folks not near an AD base take it in the shorts. Nothing new to see here, please move on.
