15 May 2013 Military Pay

It's that time of month again...people are starting to wonder about the next payday.  The next regular, active duty military pay day is Wednesday, 15 May 2013.  When will you get paid?  It depends on your bank and sometimes even your bank account.

On Tuesday, 14 May 2013, financial institutions who deposit military pay "one business day early" will post military pay to their customers' accounts.  This includes USAA and PMCU.

Service Credit Union offers deposits "up to two business days" before the actual payday.  It is likely that Service Credit Union customers will have their military pay posted on Monday, 13 May 2013.  It seems to be true that they were able to deposit pay on Saturday for the last Wednesday payday, but don't count on it.

Navy Federal Credit Union has different pay posting procedures for different account types.  Customers who have their pay deposited into an Active Duty checking account will see their pay pending on Monday, 13 May 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 14 May 2013.  Customers with any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Tuesday, 14 May 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 15 May 2013.

Think your pay is late?  Almost all emails and comments I get regarding late deposits are resolved with a few hours, just by waiting.   See  What Time Will I Get Paid?  for more information about pay posting times.
