15 August 2012 Military Pay

If it is the 8th, it is time for me to be writing about the next payday.  The next regular, Active Duty military payday is Wednesday, 15 August 2012.  Most active duty folks will see their pay deposited to the designated bank account sometime on Wednesday, 15 August.  Anytime, folks, not just first thing in the morning or at midnight or at 8:47 am.  Anytime!

Some banks and credit unions offer early deposit of active duty military pay as a benefit to their customers.  The most common deal is that military pay will be deposited one business day early.  If your bank or credit union offers this feature, you will see your pay deposited to your account on Tuesday, 14 August 2012.  Don't forget:  Anytime!   I know that this is offered by USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union.  I'm sure there are more financial institutions that offer this bonus, but I don't know which ones.  If you'd tell me in the comments, I'd appreciate it.

Service Credit Union offers deposits "up to two business days early," pending receipt of the information from DFAS.  With a Wednesday official payday, it seems reasonable that Service Credit Union customers will most likely have their pay deposited on Monday, 13 August 2012.  Again, anytime on that day.

If you bank with Navy Federal Credit Union, the day of your deposit will depend on which type of account into which you have your pay being deposited.  Customers with Active Duty checking accounts will see their deposits pending on Monday, 13 August 2012, to be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 14, August 2012.  Customers with any other type of account will see their deposits pending on Tuesday, 14 August 2012, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 15 August 2012.   This is also an anytime deal, though Navy Federal is usually pretty consistent about having their posting done by the start of business on the day stated.
