Wow, spring is just flying by! The next military pay day is this Friday, 13 April 2012. It is on Friday because the 15th is on a Sunday, so it bumps back to the previous business day. Military service members should see their pay distributed no later than the end of the day on Friday. In reality, most will have their pay deposited earlier on Friday, or even before Friday.
Certain military-oriented banks and credit unions offer early direct deposit of active duty military pay as a benefit to their customers. USAA, Pacific Marine Credit Union, and others will always offer funds one business day early. For this pay period, this means that customers whose banks offer this courtesy will have their pay deposited on Thursday, 12 April 2012. It could be any time on Thursday, depending on a multitude of variables.
If you are a Navy Federal Credit Union customer, when you will receive your pay depends on what type of checking account you use. Customers with an Active Duty checking account will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 11 April 2012, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 12 April 2012. Customers with any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 12 April 2012, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 13 April 2012. Not sure which type of account you have? You can check your online account access list, call the credit union, or stop by a branch. Wish you had an Active Duty account? It is easy to switch (though it probably won't get your pay deposited earlier for this payday.)

Also, please note that this next pay period is going to be a long one. The April End-of-Month pay day is on Tuesday, 1 May 2012 - that is 18 days away. If things are tight financially, you will have to be extra careful to make sure you have enough money to get through until then.
