Mid-month Net Pay Advice statements are up (for those who get them) and pay day is coming soon.  When will you see your money?  The next military pay day is Wednesday, 15 February 2012.  Most service members will see their pay sometime on Wednesday, 15 February.  And by sometime, I mean any sometime.  Processing deposits is a process that takes time, and customers will find that their banks and credit unions don't always get deposits posted at the exact same time each pay day.

Numerous banking institutions offer early release of military pay deposits as a courtesy to their customers.  Service Credit Union, for example, can be up to several days early.  It is hard for me to predict when Service Credit Union will post pay because I don't have experience with them.  Lots of banks and credit unions, such as USAA FSB and Pacific Marine Credit Union, release deposits one business day early.  For customers who bank with a company that pays one business day early, they will see their military pay posted on Tuesday, 14 February 2012.

Navy Federal Credit Union account typesNavy Federal Credit Union has a two-tiered system, depending on which type of checking account you have.  If you have an Active Duty checking account, you will see your deposit pending on Monday, 13 February, to be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 14 February.  If you have any other type of checking account, your deposit pending on Tuesday, 14 February, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 15 February.  Not sure which type of account you have?  You can look on your online account list, call, or stop by a branch to find out.
