Long Pay Period Warning – January 2012

Active duty military folks are getting paid on Thursday or Friday of this week, depending on the policies and practices of your bank or credit union.  Please, please note that this is a very long pay period…19 days until the next military pay day on 1 February 2012.  If your budget is tight, you will need to be extra careful to make sure that your funds last until the next pay.

Based upon past experience,Every GI should be able to deal with this easily. Every Gi have gone through those times. A day or two before payday it’s time to put those pennies together. Not rembering the last headache it’s time to,get that bottle of Burbon Delux.

I disagree with Al’s comment…Im sure a lot of military folks are going it paycheck to paycheck, and even if they budget just like my husband and I it does get a little snug when there are bills to pay, or other mouths to feed. I think this notice is a helpful reminder to consider following a budget , especially in times like these.

I agree with the comments mentioned above. the following of a monthly budget is the key to monthly control of expenses. I retired in 1984 and had a surprise because we could not go all out and spend, spend, spend. When you retire you have to tighted your belt and change your bway of living, because the economy is always presenting problems, and remember your retired pay is a lot less than full active duty pay. as the leglislators say get a job and do not raise taxes on anyone. really, where are the jobs?
