15 September 2011 Military Pay

Payday is coming, and with it the questions about when people should expect to see their pay.

The next military payday is Thursday, 15 September, 2011.  All people who receive pay from the military should anticipate receiving their deposit sometime on Thursday unless they have reason to believe that they will be paid earlier.  Some people might be paid earlier than the actual payday because many banks and credit unions offer early direct deposit of active duty (and sometimes Guard and reserve) pay as a benefit to their customers.

If you are an USAA banking customer or if you bank with another bank that specifically offers to pay one day early, you will see your active duty pay released at some time on Wednesday, 14 September 2011.  Please do not panic if it is not there at a specific time.  There are many variables that go into the processing of that many payments and it isn't always going to appear at exactly the same time each pay day.

Navy Federal customers need to know what kind of account they have before they can know when to expect their pay deposited.  Customers with Active Duty accounts should have their deposits posted overnight from Tuesday,13 September to Wednesday, 14 September, to be available for use on Wednesday.  All other account customers will see their deposits posted overnight on Wednesday, 14 September to Thursday, 15 September.  Don't forget, just because you are on Active Duty does not mean that you selected an Active Duty checking account.  Not sure what sort of account you have?  You can look at your online account access, stop by your local branch, or call NFCU to find out.
