December has been a busy month, and I've neglected to post my favorite reads for weeks now! I hope your holiday season has been full of good times and good memories.
Some of my favorite reads from around the web:
At The Penny Hoarder, a funny and informative article called I Get Paid To Buy Beer. I have worked in mystery shopping before, and this twist on mystery shopping is a great way to make a little extra cash if you aren't too old (like me.)
Over at GIBill.com, a reader asks Why Doesn't the GI Bill Cover My Full Tuition? The GI Bill is a great deal, but it won't cover everything depending on the school your choose.
Not entirely financial, New Year's Resolutions for Husbands and Wives is a good read and it does have financial applications. In an unfortunate Catch-22, couples with good relationships are better able to make good financial decisions, and solid finances can contribute to a better relationship. Keeping your marriage on solid ground is one part of keeping your finances good, too.
We military folks tend to travel a lot, so I liked the info in 9 Secrets That Hotels Don't Want You To Know. I especially like the idea about asking for new blankets - I hate hotel blankets. I think they are scary and gross. I will now disinfect stuff when I get to a hotel too, because that seems to make a lot of sense.
I can't believe it is 2011 already. Here's to a great year!
