4 December 2010 Weekend Roundup

Ah, it is a super-cold day here in the Old Country, and we’ve hunkered down and are trying to keep warm without breaking the bank.  I’m perfectly happy to let the laptop work as a lapwarmer as I share these great reads:

In the scariest news I have read this week, MSNBC is reporting the Odds Someone Else Has Your SSN?  1 in 7.  This article has me so flummoxed that I have shoved it into the dark recesses of my mind, to be dealt with another day.

navynest at Our Navy Nest has put together an excellent list of thrifting tips for shopping at thrift stores.

Over at One Money Design, Jason asks Pay Off Student Loan Debt or Save for Retirement? It is a good question and one that many people ponder.

ffb at Free From Broke writes a simple yet strong article about how LIFE Has A Way Of Screwing Up Budgets.  I love how easily he summarizes the things that make budgets not work!

The perennial PCS question does not take a break just because it is the holiday season.  Colonel K at Military Avenue gives food for thought in Renting or Buying?  How To Make That Decision During A PCS.
