Please help spread the word!  The Stop Loss Payment program deadline has been extended through 3 December 2010.  Officials estimate about 80,000 eligible service members, veterans, and beneficiaries have yet to apply for the special stop-loss pay.  Most have already separated from the Services and may not know about this generous payment program.

The program affects military members whose service was involuntarily extended under stop-loss between 11 September 2001 and 30 September 2009. Eligible members or their beneficiaries are required to submit a claim to their respective military Service in order to receive the benefit of $500 for each full or partial month served in a stop-loss status.  Service members and veterans have until December 3, 2010 to file a Stop-Loss Special Pay claim.
