Taxes Are Due! What If You Can’t Pay Right Now?

The filing deadline for 2009 income tax returns is April 15, 2010, unless you (or your spouse) were deployed to a combat zone.  With the deadline so soon, some people will be realizing that they owe additional taxes and they are unable to pay right now.  That is a scary feeling, but fortunately Pete has addressed it in What Should I Do If I Can’t Pay My Taxes? What Options Do I Have? Pete is absolutely right – you need to file, even if you can’t pay right now.  Which option you take after filing depends on your specific situation, but you will also need to think about your military situation.  You definitely don’t want get into a bad situation with the IRS, so be sure to take action and not avoid it all.
