A Resource for Renting

Whether you are a homeowner who needs to rent your house, or a renter looking for a new home, the Department of Defense has a free resource that can help make your job easier.  The Automated Housing Referral Network is a DOD sponsored database of rental housing, shared housing, temporary housing and a few military For Sale By Owner houses.  One nice feature is that it allows you to sort by your BAH or distance to a specific military installation, features that civilian databases don’t have.  In addition, you can be pretty sure that if a landlord has listed in the military database, they don’t mind renting to military folks.  I love being able to add another tool to my toolkit.

Update  04/02/2010:  In addition to MilitarybyOwner.com (which I love, and is mentioned in the comments), you will also find a variety of other resources at this Military.com list.
